With the time change yesterday and the short ride today, the decision was made to have breakfast a little later at 7:30. This gave everyone a chance to sleep a little later this morning. Even so we were underway by about 7:45. Michel joined us today as our galley crew is cooking dinner.
In Campbellton we had to swing by to see Restigouche Sam, a giant salmon. The sculpture of a salmon leaping out of the water was actually very good.
From Cambellton we carried on to Dalhousie where we stopped at a cafe for toast and coffee. Leaving Dalhousie we had to climb a pretty steep hill, but we did it!
In Nash Creek we stopped for chocolate milk to go with our PBJ. My consumption of PBJ as dropped off in past couple of weeks with availability of good restaurants along the way.
The ride today was fairly easy. There were some hills but they weren’t too bad other than the one out of Dalhousie. The big bonus was the tailwind so we made pretty good time. By just after 2 pm we arrived in camp at Petit Rocher, ahead of the truck.
The campsite is gorgeous, overlooking the water. With our early arrival we had time to relax and enjoy the scenery before we had to start on dinner.
