Seascapes and Waterfalls

In my last post, I featured some woodland scenes I photographed on Vancouver Island during a recent photography workshop. In this post, I will share some of the seascapes and waterfalls I captured during that week. I will finish off the post with a lone tree in a lake which kind of falls into a category of its own.

Seascapes can range from idyllic scenes of waves lapping on the shore to the full power of the ocean waves crashing against rocks. The images below were taken on the south coast of Vancouver Island, overlooking Juan de Fuca Strait.

The first image below is a waterfall in an old growth forest. The second image is a waterfall at the end of a slot canyon.

The final image is of what is know as the Fairy Tree. It is quite a remarkable “bonsai”-like tree growing out of an old stump in the middle of a lake.
