Arrival on Canouan

On Friday, March 22nd we left Barbados for Canouan, an island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.  Upon arrival at the Barbados airport we discovered that Liat Airlines had switched us to a different flight with a departure of 9:40 am instead of 8:10.  If they had informed us in advance we wouldn’t have had to check out of our hotels so early.  At any rate our “new” flight left on time and our connection in Grenada was uneventful.
As we flew over the Grenadine islands from Grenada to Canouan we could look down and see the sailboats and the beautiful colours of the water.  Soon we would be in one of those boats.
At the Canouan Airport we were met by the shuttle driver for the Tamarind Beach Resort where we would be staying that night.  The fellow was kind enough to stop at an ATM on the way to the hotel so we could stock up on East Caribbean Dollars.

Lunch on Canouan

At check-in we were welcomed with punch (unfortunately non-alcoholic) and shown to our rooms.  The resort is quite nice and situated on a beautiful beach.  After lunch we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the beach and the warm waters.image
