IMG_1258Our final full day in Palm Desert was another relaxing one.  Not every trip somewhere has to be about rushing here and there and seeing as much as you can.  Sometimes you just have to take it easy, see a few sights, and leave others for another visit.

In the morning we met a friend of Susan’s for coffee.  Following coffee we strolled around El Paseo for a bit before having a tasty lunch at Sammy’s Wood Fired Pizza in The Gardens Shopping Mall on El Paseo.

Then it was back to the resort where we lay by the pool for the rest of the afternoon.

Dinner was at The Cafe des Beax-Arts.  This French cafe was an ideal spot for our final night’s dinner.

Wednesday morning we were up early to check out and head for the airport: a short drive away.  We arrived in plenty of time to return our rental car, get through security and have a leisurely breakfast.

The flight was uneventful although it did take us from sun and warmth to sun and cooler temperatures.  Maybe Old Man Winter was being a little nice to us, easing us back to reality with +9 temperatures.  That will be the last high we see above 0 for at least a week now.

Ah well, we’ll just have to dream about our return trip to Palm Desert … but that will be another story.
