I only had a few hours on my last day in San Diego as I had to get home for a meeting later that afternoon. So I decided to check out the Zora Garden in Balboa Park.

The Zora Garden is a sunken garden that, I’m sure, is quite beautiful when the plants are in bloom. Obviously January is the wrong time to visit if you want a lot of flowers. But it was still quite pleasant to enjoy the solitude in the garden. There were a few blossoms in evidence and some very dramatic tree roots. (Click any image to see larger version.)

Surrounding the garden were some beautiful buildings. Unfortunately, time did not allow exploring these buildings further. Perhaps another time.
